1Consider it an overpay? Maybe. But Yanks have no leverage here. Cease traded. Cole hurt. Snell and Monty not ready until May anyway (ramp up time). Marlins might even take out Nardi (Edwards is needed as Yanks UTL role). But Yanks are honestly desperate here. Luzardo being a lefty and 3 yrs of control (vs. 2 for Cease) is the difference in giving up Jones or not. I know Miami is having SP injury issues as well, but their farm isn’t that great and it allows them to be competitive in 2025.
