6Guardians get Dalbec a RH Power Bat in his last option year, Red Sox get Straw, some cash and take on the rest of his contract.
I have no problem with the Straw part, but there is no future for Dalbec on the Guardians. Would the Guardians use a 40-man roster spot on Dalbec? I doubt it.
Cleveland would love to dump Salary due Straw over next few seasons. He would be gone iF they could have found another team that "values defense" like Cleveland has in past several years (at CF, at SS, at C). Straw can go get it, no doubt Gold Glove calibre, but ridiculous extension by 'exemplary' front office makes him an albatross.
Honestly, only IF Boston took his whole contract would Cleveland make this move and that would only to be to cut Dalbec right afterwards...
