2Yankees get Crochett who has been red hot this year. I am a big walk:k ratio guy (both for hitters and pitchers). 31:4 is great. If he runs out of gas as a starter then move him back to the pen where he has experience. You can say that the White Sox should build around him as he only turns 25 in June, but here they get two young pieces at multiple positions. Currently value wise it says that it is a massive overpay. If you want to add another mid tier prospect from Yankees (one of the Sernas?) then that is fine. The San Fran part of it relates to them adding a pitcher who yes they could have signed, but with all of the issues w/their rotation they need innings. Also they get a young (and yes flawed) toolsy OF. Wade only 2 more years left and Flores can play 1B. Yankees get a guy in Wade who I have liked for awhile. Rizzo hasn’t been good defensively and while they both are LH they could platoon. I almost debated dumping Grisham, but Wade’s CF defense isn’t the greatest (he is great at 1B and corners). So we need CF defense in Trent (especially w/Judge in center). If no other transactions made ideal healthy Yanks 26 man roster for postseason: Starting lineup vs. Righties (9): SS-Volpe-R RF - Soto-L DH-Judge-R 1B-Rizzo-L CF-Dominguez-S LF-Verdugo-L C-Wells-L 2B-Torres-R 3B-Cabrera-S Best bench in baseball (6) : C-Trevino-R (platoon against lefties-Wells to bench), IF-Lemahieu-R (platoon at 3rd against lefties), OF/DH Stanton-R (platoon against lefties-Verdugo to bench-Judge to CF, Dominguez to LF), SS/IF-Berti-R (main pinch runner), 1B/OF-Wade-L (defensive replacement at 1B), CF/OF Grisham-L (defensive replacement at CF) Pitching (11) (Gil, Effross, Weaver, Trivino, Warren, Burdi all available in case of injury): Starters- Cole-R Rodon-L Stroman-R Crochett-L Swing guys- Schmidt-R Cortes-L Middle innings: Ferguson-L Gonzalez-L Kahnle-R Setup- Hamilton-R Closer- Holmes-R
I know it is an essay. I just am passionate about mock trades/roster construction!
