6Yankees desperately need relief help. Harvey with another 3 years of control is the ticket. He leads baseball in fwar. As far as Mcmahon goes he fills in at 3B and 1B (even 2B). With Torres and Rizzo struggling so much. His splits away from Coors isn’t terrible. I know his value on this site is low because of his 11.3 million AAV for next 4 years, but it is offset by Grisham (5 mil aav roughly next 2 years-arb) who never plays. Yanks got Trammel for CF defense anyway. Doyle has been great for Colorado, but Jones for Peraza is essentially a swap of unused SS. Jones has the speed and versatility element though. Still two options left vs. one for Peraza. Rizzo’s team option is 11 million. Decline that and it pays for Mcmahon. 2025 has Oswaldo/Mcmahon/DJ and Rumfield manning the 1B/3B rotation. 2024 team once healthy (righties) SS-Volpe-R RF-Soto-L CF-Judge-R 1B-McMahon-L (DJ vs. lefties) DH-Rizzo-L (Stanton vs. lefties) 2B-Torres-R LF-Verdugo-L 3B-Cabrera-S (Berti vs. lefties) C-Wells-L (Trevino vs. lefties) Bench: C-Trevino-R 1B/2B/3B-Lemahieu-R DH-Stanton-R IF-Berti-R OF-Trammel (replaced by Dominguez once he is healthy) Pitchers: SP-Cole-R SP- Rodon-L SP-Stroman-R SP-Schmidt-R Swing-Cortes-L RP-Effross-R RP-Kahnle-R RP-Ferguson-L RP-Gonzalez-L (or another trade for reliever upgrade) SU-Hamilton-R SU-Harvey-R CL-Holmes-R
I honestly don't see the motivation for Colorado to do this.
McMahon is useful. Grisham is not.
To get off of Mcmahon’s salary.
Yet, you saddle them with the useless Trent Grisham and his salary.
He only has one year left after this year at arbitration. So 5.5 million vs. McMahon’s 50+ million over 4 years
