7Why? Hentges will further deepen the bullpen.
Dallas is at best a mediocre pitching prospect. Some reports see him as a bullpen piece. He is not ready to help the Guardians in any way. He has been poor at triple A so far this season allowing 35 baserunners in 18 1/3 innings. Nimmala is 18 and several years away. Cleveland has depended heavily on their bullpen to date and need to keep all their options available to them. If I am moving Hentges, I want a much better pitching prospect than Dallas. I also want one that will be able to help this season. I guess that you are not concerned with the Guardians being contenders in 2024.
I'm really not. That rotation is not making a championship run. Once we use the draft pick and call up Delauter next year then we can start keeping everyone available if Dolan lets them. I'm not very high on Hentges right now so I feel he's a piece that can go. But if you really want a better pitching prospect for Hentges then so be it. We haven't even extended Naylor yet so idek if the options gonna be there still.

Yeah, I would never agree to this and I'd guess Chernoff wouldn't either.
I'd say no to trading Hentges to get a lotto prospect and Dallas... Let alone add in Halpin... Now, IF we could trade Frias type for Dallas, yeah, I'd do that deal... IF Hentges is getting dealt it's gonna be for a near ready prospect with a much higher value/ranking...

Exactly, the Blue Jays will now beef up their already solid bullpen with 4 years of Sam Hentges, who is coming off rehab soon. They will also get Halpin who is having a promising outing in Akron currently. In return we will get a nice pitching prospect which is what we need right now and a future star in Nimmala. Imo the Blue Jays are going to need this to be contenders soon
