Even though Wells is on the IL, I think Milwaukee does this just to get some pitching. I can't see the Mariners having any interest though. They are in a division that is winable and the return they are getting is under whelming at best. I don't see them giving up so much pitching and getting only a relief pitcher and a couple of very mediocre SP prospects back.

Seattles starting pitching is loaded and they currently have a black hole on offense at 3B and 1B. Getting Ortiz and Mayo instantly fills those holes, the SP prospects can develop in their system, and Cano is a great get. It isn't completely out of the realm of possible, but I could see Seattle wanting more.

"Seattle's starting pitching is loaded" Woo is hurt and the next starter up would probably be Dallas Keuchel. "Black hole on offense at 3B and 1B" Ty France currently has a 96 wRC+ which isn't great but I wouldn't call it a black hole. Take a quick look at Josh Rojas's stats though. Maybe it doesn't last but there's nothing here that makes the mariners want to trade two starters, much less arguably their two currently best performing starters. In fact the Rojas/Urias platoon is easily currently outperforming Ortiz.
