1This is an interesting trade. Springs is the better pitcher but he also has 2 years less control and he just pitched more innings in one year than he has pitched in the other 4 years of his career. I'm worried that Springs is gonna break down at some point next year and that 2 years of control is really just a month or two. Of course, I could be worried for nothing. Anderson on the other hand has not pitched well over a full season. The only year he has looked like a good pitcher was the pandemic shortened 2020. I'd rather have 2 years of a #2/3 pitcher than 4 years of a #5. So I'm gonna give this trade a thumbs down because I want the Rays to field the best possible team while they have Glasnow and McClanny leading the rotation, and I don't know whether the Rays can fix Anderson (or if he is even fixable; he just might have weak stuff).
