If the Rays decide to sell, Seattle is a good landing place for either Arozarena, Yandy Diaz, or Isaac Paredes. The Rays will be after their young MLB ready pitching. Brash would be available in the 2nd half of 2025, and Woo would join the rotation immediately.

Now wait a minute! You just agreed with me that the Rays pitching is in good shape next year with existing personnel, and now you want 2 new SPs added to a darn good group? Well you can't have 2. You can have 1 new SP and then far-off, high upside position players. That's the deal and it's non-negotiable. And since I know you love emoticons - :)

I have 2025s rotation as 1) Littell 2) McClan 3) Bradley 4) Pepiot. After than, who knows. If we sell Diaz, Randy, BLowe, Eflin, there's no reason to keep Springs, Civale, Rasmussen and Fairbanks this offseason. Get younger, get cheaper, start a new era. As we've seen, you can't have enough pitching. 7 MLB starters, 2 of which have options is the bare minimum. I definitely want an additional MLB starter. I hope it's from the White Sox, but next best would be from Seattle.

Do you see Springs and McClanny differently? Both are coming off TJS and under control through 2027. I have them in the same bucket, with both in the 25 rotation for sure. Springs won’t have much trade value til 2026 either. Has to prove he’s fully back before he’s appropriately valued.

I see them differently just because Springs will pitch this year, and McClan won't. If you decide to sell, you want to maximize value. McClan won't have value at the deadline, and won't have as much value this offseason as he would if he comes back healthy for a year, or even next deadline. Springs will be at his max value this offseason assuming he comes back healthy. I'm not putting Springs in the definitely traded category with Eflin and Civale, but he's closer to it than McClan is.

Springs would need to return this year with no rust to be at peak value. I don’t see that happening.
