5I'd love to trade Yandy. He has lost so much trade value, I can't see moving him. I'd love to trade Aroz. Samesies. If either one of those guys are moved, it's salary dump, and I don't want that. This opens up a spot for Mead or Caminero next year. It adds an excellent pitcher to 2025 and beyonds staff, The catcher of the future, and Randy's replacement in left field.
I liked Montes a lot more when he cost a 1/3 of his current value.
Agree. I said here he'd be a top 100 by midseason in every trade I made involving him, starting at about the trade deadline last year. What are your thoughts on moving Paredes? I don't necessarily want to (you were big right about him!), but we're running out of players with value to bother moving them. We could move Randy, Yandy, and BLowe, and maybe end up with a low end top 100 prospect and some filler. I'm not moving them for that. I think Eflin and Fairbanks are as good as gone, but that's it. If they play for the future, Paredes is their best hope for a big score.
Over the next 6 months I think the Rays will trade Eflin, Civale, Armstrong and Adam, and will trade Littell, Fairbanks, Poche and Cleavinger if they get the right offers. On the position player side, 1-2 of Diaz, Aroz and B.Lowe are getting traded because of cost/performance. I would be shocked if they traded Paredes with 3 years of control remaining, particularly if they trade Diaz.
And don't overlook 4 years of Brash. The injury gives them the opportunity to stretch him out and be back by midseason in 2025 and get 3.5 years of him.
