2This feels like a buy-high trade for the Rays and I don't love it, but there's no disputing Herrera would drastically improve the Rays' catcher situation. Rortvedt has been great, but A.Jackson has been the worst player in baseball all year. There is no explanation for why the Rays continue to play him, except he has compromising photos of the owner or RFO. Swapping him for Herrera stabilizes the catching position for the next few years and allows the Rays' promising young catchers in AA to develop at the right pace.
Nooooo, everything was fine till I looked and saw Efkin's a FA in '26
