2Would the Braves trade away that much major league ready pitching depth in a playoff year?
Pitching is all they have to offer of any real value in my opinion. Year after year, they choose to only draft pitchers early and this is the end result. They have a top 5 starting pitching staff, and a top 10 bullpen without any of the guys I've included. But the offensive production (especially from OF & SS) has been brutal with the injuries and others underperforming. Even if Fried walks, Strider is back next year to fill his spot in the rotation. Sale & Lopez have been amazing and Schwellenbach looks like the real deal. If they're serious about getting out of the 1st round this year, I believe the offense must have a significant boost. They have no OF depth and we can't expect Duvall/Rosario to produce like they did 3 years ago. I personally think it would be a good problem to have next year with 4 guys capable of playing CF (Robert, Harris, Kelenic, Acuna). You never know with injuries as this year has shown, and as good as Ozuna has been, the clock is ticking on him at DH too.
