Cleveland isn't making this move... Humphries becomes more available after the draft, but I don't see Chourio moved. He's getting top 100 rankings and I feel like he is a guy they plan on having replace the current MLB group...
What about Cleveland trying to win a title with the current group? Chourio is a CF by trade and in Low-A; he's a good two years away from making his bug league debut. You're penciling him in to replace the rookie you started in CF last night.
Cleveland's FO just doesn't trade certain prospects and I think Chourio is on that list and his value will likely continue to climb... Now, to get Chourio away from Cleveland, the player would have to be more than a pure DH. Rooker can't play the field and their manager doesn't like pure DHs it seems... Rooker's team control is nice, but Cleveland isn't going to value him high enough to swap Chourio for him straight up. Now you may be able to get Manzardo plus Humphries for Rooker since Kayfus has been legitimately good enough to replace Manzardo... But I just don't see Chourio being moved... Now it's possible if you did Rooker, plus Naylor the Cleveland FO may take it since they want to extend Naylor and having his two brothers may get him to sign a bit cheaper...
Vogt might be more willing to go with a full time DH if he had one hitting like Rooker has been hitting. Why would the A's trade for Manzardo when they have Soderstrom at 1B and they just used the #4 pick on a 1B? And who does Cleveland kick in as a "Thank You" if Naylor heads over?
There is no way Cleveland would trade Chourio plus Humphries for Rooker unless they got more back... Oakland would likely have to put Naylor going back to Cleveland... Manzardo plus Humphries could get Cleveland to say yeah, but like you said, it doesn't make any sense for the A's... Vogt wanting a full time DH, my money would be they wouldn't because the DH not being covered allows JRam, Naylor, etc to stay in the lineup while getting a day off. Having Rooker would force them to take less days off... That won't work for the type of crew Cleveland has...
