If the Braves elect to go big in the offseason at SS, then Arcia becomes available. Rays need a better stopgap SS than they currently have on the roster, so they add Arcia and nontender T.Walls in the offseason. The return for Arcia is 3 young players who all have promise, particularly A.Shenton, but who seem unlikely to get a real shot with the Rays. BTW - This trade is probably a pretty big overpayment by the Rays for Arcia, whose trade value should fall in the offseason with one less year of control, but the Rays don't care because they need to open spots throughout the system to allow for long overdue promotions.
