12Rays also get a PTBNL - 22yr old Catcher Hudson White - check him out here ; https://www.soxprospects.com/players/white-hudson.htm. Check out Zach Ehrhard here; https://www.soxprospects.com/players/ehrhard-zach.htm
You love to trade the Rays best prospects. Curet’s upside is a 1-3 SP. There’s no way the Rays are giving him away for a couple of just guys.
I think Ehrhard would be an interesting piece if TB drafted him but Curet is much farther down the development line than him and is showing more promise, I'd like him in a trade but not straight up for Curet.
Also included a 22yr old Catcher in high A ball, nice defensive prospect, you check him out?
I did but honestly he's more an organizational guy, if he makes it to AAA I would be surprised, so TB would be trading a guy that they don't have to trade that has a high upside of an mlb starter for 2 guys who high upside might be role players so it really wouldn't make a lot of sense for TB to do that, if you were talking about a guy like Litell or Alexander or Joe Rock then those guys are in the mix, IMO when there's a prospects for prospects trade it usually involves guys that are 40 man eligible that you don't want to risk losing to the rule 5 draft or when there's a large surplus of depth at one position so they find a team with a similiar issue. Like TB has 3 LH hitting 1B at AAA or very little mlb time in Aranda, Shenton, and Seymour and since it's not a good idea to carry 3 similiar players on the 40 man I'm sure they'll move at least one of them but GMs don't want to be the guy that traded away a future star for a guy that ends up busting if all that makes sense lol
I thought the Rays were looking for organizational Catcher depth, that’s why I included him as a PTBNL
Exactly right!
What do expect a team to ask for? I’m not offering up anything unreasonable or unrealistic other than it’s a rare prospect for prospect(s) trade. Did you look into the 2 players offered?
I don’t want to trade Curet at all. The Rays have a deep Farm but for that Farm to mean anything in the future it needs to produce above average major leaguers. Curet has that potential. Most prospects do not.
And the pitching side is pretty dang weak.
I’m not too worried about pitching, but I’m also higher on Baz, Pep and Bradley than I think you are.
I was more talking about prospect pitching. But, yeah, you are probably higher on them than I am. I think Baz is extremely Hellicksonish. Lots of hard contact (like at the extreme levels), doesn't miss enough bats, and an extreme fly ball rate. That dude is more likely to have an ERA in the 5's than in the 3's next year. When that .230 BABIP hits .350, jeez man, the sky is the limit for the amount of runs he'll give up. I like Bradley a lot. I think Pepiot gets traded this off-season.
