I'm not a Rushing fan (at catcher at least), so I downvoted this trade. Trading two productive major leaguers for one prospect is not something the Rays would ever do, so in the real world, this trade has zero chance of ever happening. In BTV world, I question whether Rushing has the bat to be worth nearly $40MM in trade value if he's playing LF. Maybe he will be a good LFer, but maybe not. Still, I would rather the Rays stick to their normal MO of trading one player at a time for 2-3 players in return.

With the Snell signing and Ryan being out the whole year with TJS I wonder if LAD would trade River to free up a spot?

I figured the Dodgers would need to trade a couple guys before the Rule 5 deadline because they had so many guys on the 60 day IL, but I don't think they did. They'll need to free up spots to add players in free agency, so I suspect they will look to move a couple prospects who are aging out of their system or who will miss most of the year due to injury. Last year's Busch for Ferris trade is probably the template. Dodgers got younger and added to a position of need (teams always need pitching) by trading Busch.
