3Rays don’t need ML pitching and they don’t trade players to the Yankees. That said, this would be a hard trade to say no to by the Rays.
Honestly not really sure about the position that the Rays are in I've just seen what the Yankees are willing to give up for Tucker as a rental and thought if they were to instead commit to a rebuild this kid looked like a decent fit but would obviously need a bit of an overpay to get him.
We will know more about what the front office is thinking by ST, but I think most Rays fans are expecting a little more selling this year before their next window opens again in 2026. Rays have good, young pitching already in the Majors, and in the next 2 years they will be calling up nearly a full lineup of top position players from the minors. I expect Fairbanks, Cleavinger, Littell, Y.Diaz and possibly B.Lowe to be traded this year, mostly for guys with 5 or more years of control. We will see...
