Down vote for the A's. Forst's comment that he "wouldn't rule out" acquiring another SP probably doesn't cancel out his comment about not trading Rooker. The A's have 9 pitchers on the 40 man roster that started big league games in 2024; adding 2 more SP into the mix would be overkill.

I disagree, especially on Ashcraft. I consider durability an important skill and Ashcraft fails in that regard. Oviedo showed a lot of potential in 2023 but after watching the A's mess up repeatedly when taking arms that are still in rehab mode... I need to see him back in game action before I'd be comfortable trading for him. How does the stuff look? Where's his command? Too many unknowns for my taste to use him as a building block for Rooker.
