Doyle would definitely work for the Rays in CF. Is he enough of an upgrade overall to give up Diaz though? What worries me about Doyle (I’ve considered proposing his trade to the Rays myself) is that he historically has a K rate above 30%, even during his time in the minors. Was last year a result of a new hitting approach or just a career year at the plate never to be repeated (ie: would the Rays being buying high). I suspect the Rays are more likely to roll with DeLuca than bring in someone like Doyle for CF, but I wouldn’t be shocked if they acquired Doyle either.
