Yankees -- 1) get rid of Stroman + DJ money; 2) add Sonny Gray money; 3) add two lefty relievers with high strikeout potential, one of whom is familiar with the organization; 4) get 2B that they need; 5) add utility player team is familiar with; and 6) only end up adding ~$5mm-6mm to payroll (still below threshold) // Cardinals -- 1) get one year of Dylan Cease, where he may decide to extend, or where they can flip him at the deadline for more value; 2) take on money for the next 2-3 years in Stroman + DJ while they rebuild; 3) add Yankees first-round pick from last year; and 4) add coveted Yankee SS prospect // Padres -- 1) get rid of two relievers who have been net negative for team; 2) add two relief pitchers who are better fits for the bullpen; 3) add a first base bat that is signed for the next 2-3 years, which also allows the team to move off of Arraez and/or to build out more depth; and 4) add a top international SS prospect from the Yankees in Arias
