1I don’t love it for the Rays, but I don’t hate it either. Mead needs a fresh start because it’s pretty obvious he’s not in the Rays plans. Caissie is a decent enough prospect. He has hit pretty well in the minors but has always had a high K rate that troubles me. The biggest issue with this trade though is the suddenly very full outfield of the Rays. They have 6-7 legit MLB outfielders on the 40 man right now, all playing extremely well or on short term IL. As is I think they need to trade someone, so adding Caissie, with C.Simpson in AAA, doesn’t seem like a good trade to me. I’m not sure there will ever be room for him.
