3I don't think this gets a second glance from Cleveland. They don't need McClain. They need Clase. not even close is my take.
Cleveland needs legit bats... But Cleveland for Cleveland, this isn't near enough... Rumors would state a top 100 SP prospect plus McLain plus a couple more mid tier or higher prospects...
I respectfully disagree with rumors or whoever thinks this. While Clase is great and all that he still is a reliever. McLain may have a slow start to the season since he missed all of last season that's why his value is low at the moment. He has all the potential to be a great player and has already shown it. Now the Reds could sure use a closer but they also really need hitting. IMHO Clase is a luxury for the Reds because they probably are not (again) contending for the wild card. So I would not trade McLain straight up for Clase.
