Orze is worth further consideration... but I think Tommy White can land better. Tampa can't trade their Comp A, as they acquired it from the A's as part of the Springs trade.
I don't understand this trade. The Rays are trading one of their best bullpen arms with years of control, plus a CB-A pick for a far off 1B/DH? If the trade didn't involve the pick, then maybe I could see it as a Deadline trade, but otherwise, the Rays can just use the pick on a similar player to White in the draft and keep Orze. White himself was a 2nd rounder just a year ago.
I like White's bat but Orze to me is somebody that should be looking into stretching out like they did with Springs, Rasmussen, and Litell, if they did trade with the A's I think it'd make a lot more sense for TB to target some of their young OFers like Thomas or Bolte, Grover will hate this idea but what about a trade with Morel and Andujar as pieces, Morel gives them more position flexibility with a little team control, he's Andujar's replacement minus the ability to hit lefties, TB gets a platoon bat to help against LHP.
Angular makes a lot of sense if we are also trading Diaz.
You're right, I hate the idea. Morel is bad. When you say he offers position flexibility, do you mean he's willing to sit on different parts of the bench?
I was going to say Morel for Bleday in a change of scenery trade but I was worried you might have high blood pressure and that would set you over the top, lol i didn't say he was good at those other positions just that if you played him there he would catch some of the balls hit to him
Is Morel worth a spot on the 40 man at this point? And my blood pressure is quite good but I appreciate the concern.
Honestly most rosters probably not but TB has done such a poor job of building a roster that there's really no RH replacements for Morel or Mead on the 40 man roster or even at AAA so guys like them and Taylor Walls get to relax and enjoy their time in MLB cause there's nobody challenging them for a job and TB never acts with any urgency, apparently losses don't count in June until the end of the year and they miss the playoffs by 2 games then acted surprised and call it part of being "competitive".
