The A's have been on a disastrous 1-19 run and during that time frame, the bullpen has surrendered 74 runs over 72 IP. I'm not sure if it's possible to completely overhaul a bullpen in-season but I figured I'd give it a go. SD is known to be looking for COF help and Bleday has been replaced by Clarke and Soderstrom in Sacramento. Bleday had a 120 wRC+ last season; a rookie RP and an A-ball SP could be a small enough stake for the Padres to gamble on him rebounding from a poor start this season.
