4What's the point of trading Kwan when they need more hitting with Kwan... This deal makes no sense for Cleveland at all... They have to add to Kwan and JRam not trade one...
Kwan is not resigning and it’s clear they need to bank on his value now. This sites value on Mayer and Abreu is skewed or they have Kwan too low imo. You comment on every single Guardians trade. Sometimes bringing value and common sense and sometimes coming off as a know it all recluse.
What has to be understood is Cleveland needs to improve the team... Trading Kwan for Abreu actually doesn't even come close to doing that. Kwan is a lefty who actually hits lefties well... Abreu doesn't face lefties and when he does, he's atrocious. Plus Jose Ramirez is in Cleveland for four more seasons... They want to win while he is there... Thats their window of playoff contention. Why would Cleveland trade one of the best leadoff hitters in baseball for a gold glove platoon bat and a top prospect? They have to add onto Kwan if they ever expect to make a playoff push. Who replaces Kwan? That's the whole problem here... They don't have enough hitting, so they can't just trade one of the three proven hitters in their lineup if they expect to compete...
Also, some of the trades are quite atrocious for Cleveland, not gonna lie, plus the places this site uses for Cleveland's prospects have been quite off evaluating their prospects. I can name you the 40 man roster and their top 30 or so prospects off the top of my head. The way the Guardians group has the prospects ranked and how the national media has them ranked are completely different. Plus, Cleveland's FO is notoriously bullish on certain players and prospects.
