The Mariners need bats. 1B, 2b, 3b, COF, DH...all of the above. The Rays have some options. The Mariners won't have this core forever, and they should make a run at the postseason while there's such an easy path to get there in the AL West. Angels suck. Rangers suck. A's suck. Astros are old and hurt. Trade a piece of two to make a run! This trade improves their club. I'm operating under the impression that Morgan would be their best 1B option right now, Morel is their DH, and Misner could be their RF until Raley gets back, then he would be in a back up role with options. For the Rays, Aranda's emergence has made Tre Morgan much less likely to have any impact in a Rays lineup. The Rays get a lights out reliever and a masher headed to AA.

I like your persuasive ability but I don’t think any Mariners fans will like this trade. Morel (and Yandy Diaz for that matter) aren’t going to be viewed as DH upgrades by anyone, and I say that knowing full well that most teams have bad DH situations. Morgan would be a rookie, which means he won’t be seen as a step-in replacement at any position. If the Rays are trading a 1B/DH to the Mariners, it will be Aranda himself (but at a much higher valuation than he currently has).
