Saw the Draysbay folks chatting about what it would take to get Rutschman, and I think both sides would be content with something like this. The O's season is over. They are playing for 2026, and they don't need a catcher whose offense and defense has trended downward for the last 3 years. With Basallo ready soon, they are moving him and a FA reliever to the Rays for a potential top of the rotation arm, and a bat that was highly sought after just a year ago. Baz is who they should seek out, as he'd be a fine #3 on any playoff team, and has potential to be the best starter on any playoff team. He needs to better develop a 3rd pitch to get him deeper into games. Morel needs a change of scenery, because he still hits the ball hard, but nothing else is clicking for him. The O's also get an acceptable backup C with potential for more. The Rays get an overpaid reliever who still has very good peripherals. And the belle of the ball is none other than The Rutsch. Ignore how everything is trending downward. Catcher defense is ever-changing, and there's to many yearly variables to accurately say his defense isn't what it used to be. Adleys xwOBA is in the 80th percentile, because he is a stud. His framing and pop time are still graded as well above average. This would be the heist of the century if the Rays get 2.5 years of Rutsch for that middle reliever Baz and close your eyes and swing hard Chris Morel.
