2ππΌββοΈ The Red Sox have an off day Thursday the 19th, on the Friday the 20th Abreu is due back, so on Thursday the Red Sox strike a deal. π
ππΌββοΈ When Abreu is eligible to come off the IL (and there are hopefully π no unexpected injuries) the best move the Red Sox could make is to option both David Hamilton & Romy Gonzalez to AAA, call up Sogard and activate Abreu. Sogard plays all infield spots off the bench. (And yes, Hamilton & Gonzalez both have 2 remaining options). And the Red Sox keep Refsnyder. And infield depth.
