2Fans like to get down on Marsh’s slow start, but he’s been hitting great lately and still has a .776 OPS since joining the Phillies. Definitely seems like a piece that can help with some of the Guardians CF and RF problems. And he still has two more years of control. While there isn’t a glaring need for Abel rn for the Guardians, I think he can be an impact player in their rotation or bullpen. Lane Thomas has been ass, but he is a righty outfielder, which the Phillies could use. I just like Brito as a prospect and it doesn’t seem like there is a need for him in Cleveland with Genao and Bazzana likely populating the middle infield next season. Maybe he can carve out a role as a utility man for the Phillies next year.
Personally if I’m the Phillies I’m just throwing Abel in a closer role so they wouldn’t have to give up Marsh. There won’t be a spot for him in the rotation for a while.
