2Rookery would look really, really good in the Rays lineup. I know his defense sucks, but Misner is the worst hitter in baseball, and as good as his glove is, he's just not a Major Leaguer. Mangum in CF, JLowe in RF, Rooker in LF. Caballero backs up all of them. The Rays would need to look for a CF additionally, because I'm not convinced Mangum is the answer (Brenton Doyle at his current cost seems a no brainier to me). Mangum has no power and moderate defense. I worry at some point, he's in a backup role. He and Simpson are similar players, and since Simpson is younger, I think that's who the A's would target.
Down vote for the A's. Denzel Clarke is insanely good in CF and the A's will give him extended time to figure out the bat. Because let's face it, the team already destroyed any chance to be relevant in 2025. Tre' Morgan isn't going to replace Kurtz, Soderstrom, or Butler; he doesn't have the pop. I have issues with the idea of trading a player so soon after an extension... but if the return includes high level pitching I could maybe get over myself.
