2With the news of Clarke Schmidt needing TJ surgery, the Yankees' starting pitching woes just went from bad to worse. If I'm Brian Cashman, I'm calling Ben Cherington with this offer right now. As a Pirates fan, I would like to have George Lombard Jr go the other way in any potential Keller-to-NYY deal, but the Pirates might need to retain some salary in order for that to match up. Here's a package of hitters that might interest me if I were the Pirates GM. Dominguez can immediately slot in at LF for the Buccos, Jones can go straight to Indy with the potential for a late-August/early September call-up, and Peralta is a lottery-ticket infielder with above-average power potential. Plus, trading Keller frees up a spot in the rotation for top prospect Bubba Chandler.
George Lombard of the table. Yankees would never be interested in this deal. Also Dominguez is off limits, he’ll never be traded. Stop using drugs, they’re bad for you.
