The Rays also get Kai-Wei Teng who is having a monster year in AAA, and has recently been converted from a multi-inning reliever to a starting pitcher. I'm not sure why he isn't listed here, as he's on the 40 man roster. I convert him back, and have him get MLB batters out pitching from the bullpen. I'm not messing around anymore. The Rays bullpen is a mess. It would hurt to lose Aranda, but he's entering arbitration, and this all-star selection will surely net him 5 mil or so in his 1st year. Bob Seymour has laid waste to AAA pitching, and he gets his shot in this scenario. They can always fall back on Curtis Mead if necessary, and slapdick Tre Morgan is also in AAA, and we know how the Rays love their slapdicks. I'm at my wits end watching the Rays piss away games in the 7th and 8th inning. Get me a great reliever and 2 very good relief prospects that are MLB ready, and if I have to give up Aranda, so be it. We can survive with Bob Seymour and Curtis Mead. We can't survive with Edwin Uceta, Kevin Kelley, and Somebody Orze just absolutely ruining games 4 days a week (and lately Cleavinger, WTF?). As for the Giants, they won't want a prospect. They'll want an upgrade at 2nd or 1st base. BLowe is off the table at this valuation, but the Rays have a lot of 1st basemen. Aranda gives them a really potent offense in a division with a lot of potent offenses.

Aranda isn't arb eligible until 2027. Can't see him getting traded yet. I could see Yandy traded though. And I agree on the Pen. I've been complaining about it for weeks. Check out my recent post in DRB for my thoughts on the Pen (top article). We are in agreement.
