2Why would Arizona do this? They've already lost 6 pitchers to UCL repair/Tommy John surgery this year. Why would they want another pitcher who will miss over a year? Also, their outfield is already very left-handed heavy so Jones doesn't make sense for them. They're much more likely to have interest in guys like Chase Hampton, Brock Selvidge, or Cam Schlitter.
Schmidt was a throw in. Jones has more value than Gallen and Suarez.
