Ferris is an interesting choice. High ceiling, iffy command, in AA. I could see the A's having interest. I'm doubtful on Morales. Nothing against him as a prospect but the A's almost never reach below full season ball for a trade return; maybe never under the Beane/Forst tenure on a deal this size.

As a Dodger fan, I like Ferris as a prospect but he's just one of a bunch of young pitchers they have who may never crack the Dodger roster, or at least stay there for very long. With Yamamoto, Shohei, Glasnow, Snell, Sheehan and possibly Sasaki and Kershaw for next year, I really feel badly for guys like Jackson, River Ryan, Stone, Casparius, Wrobleski, etc. How do they crack that rotation? That's why I think Friedman should trade some of them while they have max value. I also think the A's are nuts to be holding on to Mason. They could get a huge haul for him, but they'll just hold him until he has TJ and then be sorry that they didn't move him when they had the chance.

The A's aren't nuts. Forst is just really bad at his job. I agree that the A's should actively listen on Mason Miller.
