2Cubs want a 5th starter with big upside. Mike Soroka’s ERA doesn’t look great, but his 3.22 xERA is a different story. Pitching will be expensive, and Ronny Cruz makes this a reasonable overpay. Along with AAA starter Connor Noland, the Nats would get Ronny Cruz, a young and advanced shortstop with huge power. Cruz is still 18 and quickly climbing up Cubs prospects lists. 3rd round pick in 2024.
