5Cleveland would definitely say no...
Why they suck and they desperately need more talent in their farm system. I highly doubt they could get more upside talent in a deal for Clase from another team.
Umm... They have a solid farm system, easily a top 10 farm system... Actually, Cleveland doesn't even allow the national media to scout their farm system so they barely know any of their players. Majority of their 90 win team was homegrown... 30+ were originally signed, drafted or developed by the organization... Isnt that how an organization should be run?
You act like scouts can’t just go to the games or watch them on video. Heck I could do some base level scouting on their prospects right now as all their minor league affiliate games are available to watch on the MILB app. So while they may not be as cooperative as other clubs with national scouting organizations that doesn’t mean people don’t know their players or the farm system they have which at this point is good not great especially in the hitting department. After Bazana there isn’t much else in future high value position players that don’t have seriously fatal flaws in their profiles.
Let me ask you this... How many playoff appearances has Cleveland had compared to Seattle in the last 10+ years? What rank are they in wins over that time? Also, if you actually looked at the farm system of Cleveland... Kayfus, Genao, Ingle are all very good. If Ingle had a stronger arm, he would be a top 10 catching prospect with no qualms. DeLauter and Brito would be in the bigs right now if not for injuries... Peterson and Messick are badly underrated in the SP department. You say they have a weak farm, but they really don't, plus they have an FO who has put together more wins than almost any other ball club in recent memory.
