With the deflating efforts at the trade deadline for the Braves, I'm looking at trades that can be made after the season to solidify the roster and minor league system. There will be multiple trades on here and I'll mark them numerically. This trade is #1. Got to get a shortstop who won't be a huge hole in the batting order. I love Nick Allen's defense, and his competitiveness at the plate, but too many times he was unable to come up in a big situation and deliver a game changing hit. This trade gets the Braves their shortstop, and I would immediately offer a 4 year/$42M extension, which would take him through his 35th birthday. He has a $12M salary for 2026, so this extension would offer him a chance to test free agency in 2032. Sending Allen back as a lower-cost option at shortstop for the Mariners (Remember, they just signed Cal Raleigh to a six-year contract extension worth $105 million). So they're looking for cost effective ways to add talent, by subtracting salary. The Braves also send back two Top 10 prospects in their farm system with #7 Drew Hackenberg and #8 Didier Fuentes, both starting pitchers. This is a win-win type of trade for both organizations.
