Trade #2. As much as I hate to see him leave the Braves, Albies needs a chance to start over. While he has shown major improvement after the All Star Break, my guess is he'll still end up hitting double digit homeruns with an OPS and Slugging in the mid-to-high .300s, and an OPS close to .700. All these numbers would be a welcomed site for Giant fans, who have been forced to watch Casey Schmitt and Cristian Koss hold the position in 2025. Albies has two more option-years, at $7M each, which keeps him under contract through the 2027 season. For the Braves, I truly believe it's time for Nacho Alvarez to take over at second base. The more he plays, the more he'll improve, and he has the potential to, at worst, match Albies production this season. Alvarez is a hitter, and will prove that, as he has at each level he's had the opportunity to play everyday. Coming back to he Braves are three prospects to help bolster a weak farm system. The Braves would receive three Top 10 prospects from the Giants farm system, with #7 Arias, a young, hard hitting OF who will blossom and, in my opinion, battle to be the next Braves outfielder. #9 Keynar Martinez is a hard throwing pitcher in single A, who is showing tons of upside with his grasp of the zone. Finally, the Braves would get another position player to round out the trade by receiving #10 SS Maui Ahuna. Ahuna is one of the best defensive shortstops I've seen in a while, even drawing comparisons to former Braves Rafael Furcal due to his glove work and strong arm. Again, this is a win-win trade for both teams.
