This was a fun scenario to create. I have been trying to figure out a trade scenario that would even tempt Arizona to allow Lawlar out of their system. He's been my favorite prospect out of Arizone since, yep you guessed it, Dansby Swanson. I truly believe he would be the Braves solution at shortstop for many years to come. Spencer Strider was the only thing I could think of that worked in this scenario, and I tried to make it beneficial for both sides. Getting the Diamondbacks to send Ryne Nelson was a huge part of the sell as well. While Lawlar was my priority, Nelson is an important part of the trade as well. You don't take someone like Strider out of your rotation without someone who can slide into the #2 or #3 spot behind Sale. Nelson isn't at the level of Strider, but would fit nicely within a rotation of Sale, Schwellenbach and Lopez. No clue when Shawver and Holmes return, but they would eventually have to battle for a spot. I sent Nacho Alvarez as well, and that one is a personal blow to my heart, because I feel like he will be the eventual replacement for Ozzie Albies, but I feel like Tommy Troy is in a perfect position to take over that position and become a lethal combination with Lawlar up the middle for the future. Adding Crisante, Drake and Cunningham immediately upgrades the Braves farm system with three players who would immediately bump into the Top 7 prospects and begin offering some credibility to a farm system that has been slowly deteriorating. Overall, once again, this is a win-win and benefits both teams.
