2The Mariners don't have anything invested in Walker so they see a lottery ticket that COULD pay off big. They get 2 useful ML players & unload Castillo's salary for 3 long range prospects. The Cards DESPERATELY need immediate pitching depth and some long range starters while unplugging some positional gluts in the organization. Chaim wants Sloan to start his term running the show.
With Cal Raleigh and top prospect Harry Ford, the Mariners don't need Crooks.
