1Do the Pirates *need* another catcher? Potentially. Henry Davis has been making positive strides defensively, but his bat has become borderline unplayable. Joey Bart is batting .245 with a .667 OPS and not great defense. Endy Rodriguez is on the 60-day IL again, and it looks like he might be stuck at 1B for the foreseeable future. Would Adley be an upgrade? Potentially. He’s got the pedigree, and we know he’s hit well in the past. The question for GMBC when considering trading for him is if believe in the hitting coaches to unlock his potential again — or if you believe he was just a flash in the pan that is going to stay at league average for the rest of his career.
