2I proposed this more so from the Pirates need(s), although I'm familiar with the A's need of Pitching. I don't see Harrington bringing much MLB value at current time. Both Burrows and Mlodzinski would really add flexile depth to a staff. It feel like it's a lot from the Pirates sending 3 pitchers, but to obtain an productive offensive player, fill a positional need(LF), have multiple years of control, and be budget friendly, you have to take a reasonable risk.
Down vote for the A's. It's telling that Soderstrom out-performed the combined efforts of the 3 pitchers being offered. Yes, the A's need pitching but they need impact more than depth. If the A's shop Soderstrom it'll be for a TOR SP; I'm not convinced Mlodzinski stays in a rotation and Burrows is a back-end type.
