I don’t honestly think the Royals would agree to this trade but it’s the type of trade that could see the Rays acquire Mitchell. The Rays would never trade multiple players for a prospect as some like to propose.

Honestly I'm not so sold on Mitchell cause he's still living off his hype without much production his first 2 seasons, I wouldn't want to sell so low on Baz, I'd rather give him 2026 to rebuild his value after such a rough season, I'd look to sell high on Pepoit if the right deal is there but with TB who knows what their perception of the "right" deal is nowadays

I said the same thing about Bradley before the Rays gave him away to the Twins. At the end of the day, the Rays have too many SP. They can’t trade McClanny because of the injury issue and they shouldn’t trade Ras if BTV is correct on his trade value. Boyle, Whitley and Seymour are back of rotation options that probably won’t net much in trade. Jax is obviously not getting traded. So that leaves Pep and Baz as the most likely guys to go. With 4-5 new SP arms hitting AAA next year, to add to Curet and Workman as unproven pitching prospects there, the Rays just have too many arms. Some may get turned into relievers of course, but I’m expecting a trade or two. I also don’t expect the Rays to be competitive next year without payroll going up significantly, and I don’t see that happening. So if they aren’t competitive and 2027 is a strong possibility for a lost season, then the Rays should strongly consider a Farm restocking trade like this. They then move Ras/McClanny at the Deadline.

I think TB has a ton of pitching but none that is really guaranteed, Ras would be #1 but he's an extreme health risk, Pepoit #2 but he should probably be lower then that and its a ton of question marks after that, if McClanahan does come back he's missed 2 years so no telling what he'll be, i don't think you can count him for a spot until he is physically pitching again, Boyle can dominate or implode but you never know what you're going to get, Whitley seems interesting, I think Seymour is more swingman than a starter, I wish they would have stretched out Orze last year, I think he could have been similiar to Litell, i hope they pick up a couple more projects cause they'll need the depth, is Faedo still under control?

Yep. Both Faedo and that Lavender kid are under control next year. They don’t add to the proven pitching ranks though. They could start or relieve, and most likely they’ll be nothing special but maybe not. That’s kind of how I see Baz now - He could be special but he hasn’t been yet and who knows if he still has that potential under the Rays (who I think used him terribly at times last year).
