2The Cardinals send $10 MM (plus the Colorado cash) in 2026 and $5 MM in 2027 to pay down Arenado's contract. Arenado waives his NTC to play for a contender. The Phillies will pay Arenado $12 MM in '26 and $10 MM in '27 and they get an inexpensive starting Catcher in Pages. They significantly upgrade defensively while freeing up cash to resign SP Ranger Suarez. Bohm heads to St. Louis to hold down 3B until the Trade Deadline.
I see what you're thinking is and while it has real merit, I would rather the Cards land Matthew Fisher & MacFarland
