We'll pretend, for the sake of discussion, that Gray is willing to waive his NTC to return to the team that drafted him. He'd give the A's a pitcher that can push everyone down a notch in the rotation and Crooks gives the A's a better option for a defensive-minded C2. Spence struggled in Sacramento but a friendlier home park could help him return to his 2024 performance level.
