1My thoughts....Red Sox would probably prefer to trade Yoshida, but according to this site, Yoshida has negative value. Gore is a nice addition to the rotation and in his ARB years so somewhat cost controlled. They basically trade a 3 WAR OFer for a 3 WAR SP, and can backfill the OF hole with Roman Anthony. Giants are probably a 'win now' team. Eldridge is 20, they probably need him to contribute at 1B/DH this year I have concerns with his production these next two years - why not trade future WAR for a guy likely to put up 3.0 WAR at a position of need? Nationals are probably rebuilding....if they can have Eldridge, Wood, Crews, House, and Abrams all on cheap deals...maybe they just go out and buy pitching in the FA market in a year or two when Gore would be getting expensive anyway?
