Makes a whole lot of sense for both teams. Cardinals get out from under Gray's contract and get several players in return to help bridge the gap in a rebuild. Albies is a perfect two year mentor to help transition Masyn Winn up the middle, at a very reasonable price. And Gray slides into the rotation behind Sale and Strider, to form a formidable rotation with Schwellenbach and Waldrep. My hope is that Wetherholt becomes the shortstop of the future for the Braves, and that Nacho Alvarez slides into second base to replace the departed Albies.

This makes no sense for the Cardinals who could eat Grays whole contract and get 2-3 mid prospects in return. Why would cardinals give up their top prospect. Just because a trade works on the app doesn't mean it makes sense
