This trade helps the Rays in 2026 only, at the expense of the future, so if they make a trade like this, there better be several other moves coming to improve the rest of the roster. Rays aren’t just 1 player away. ——————- After thinking about it further, I kind of like the idea of acquiring Ward if the Rays don’t have to surrender such a good prospect in Baumeister.
