If the Rays believe in Canzone then this trade probably works. Personally, I would rather keep Pepiot and give J.Lowe the first half of next year to make me believe in him again. Rays are sure to give 1-2 outfield spots to fellow lefties C.Simpson and J.Mangum, so any Canzone acquisition effectively requires one (or two) of J.Lowe, C.Simpson or J.Mangum to be traded, to say nothing of utility lefty Palacios and presumed 2025 CF starter DeLuca (who spent most of the year on IL but remains in the Rays plans). I cringe at the possibility that the Rays sell low on one of their guys while buying high on Canzone.
