The $12 MM is in 3 parts. 1st: The Cards owe Arenado $6 MM in deferred money in 2040 and 2041. They also pay down $3 MM in salary for '26 and '27. The A's will pay Arenado $13 MM in '26 and $12 MM in '27. The trade is 40 man neutral, with the A's also adding a better defensive C2 and the Cardinals getting two arms that are cheap and have flashed in the past.
