And were are they playing Caissie in Cleveland? LF, CF and RF all slated to have LH hitters... Kwan is a proven hitter... Kayfus and DeLauter may have a better ceiling than Caissie... Cleveland needs a RH OF... Alcantara SOs too much though, so the Cubs would have to offer way more than Alcantara to get Allen, so that deal doesn't work either.

The number of "intriguing" RHH OFers is low. I'd love to find one but it's tough out there.

Not going to disagree... Which is why I have a feeling if the RH bat cannot be a full time CF type, I think they will opt for rentals like Adolis Garcia, Taylor Ward or resign Thomas to a one year deal. I just don't see them getting a bat who cannot be a SS or CF full time in a deal for Allen... Now, I'd love an upgrade over Noel and JRod, but can we get Caissie without giving up Allen?

I guess I think LTA is a big more fungible than you do? Gavin, Tanner, Slade, Castillo, Messick, Means, and LTA. With Khal, Hartle, Gomez, Peterson, Nikhazy. They have some depth. I know you can never have too many starters but LTA/Cantillo/Means/Messick…feels like one of those is movable this offseason.

You aren't wrong and getting a RH bat for one does make sense... Means hasn't pitch much in years... He's had 10 starts between 22-25 seasons... Nikhazy had an elbow injury last season that cost him a month, Gomez, Hartle and Khal just got to AA. Now Gomez is Rule 5 eligible so we will know here soon what they think of him. I'm just not trading Allen unless I know the guy is making the roster. Caissie is a LH hitter that plays corner OF... We have Kwan, Kayfus, DeLauter, Valera, Brito, Noel etc all that can play COF with Fry coming back... Add in Caissie, who is getting the ABs... He doesn't compliment who we have at all...

I think your hurdle of "has to make the roster" makes sense on an Allen trade. I know Cassie is cOF, but again...Valera and CDL are not risk-less. Do you think Brito starts the year working in RF? Cause I think that's the best outcome for team and player.
